Robert Szot is a well-known force in the Brooklyn art scene. He has resided there for 15 years, painting, and making original printed pieces on paper. His work has progressed consistently and now embodies a strong, crisp abstraction that curtails any sweetness and strives for balance in form and color. He is working in oil on linen which is either stretched or mounted on panel, and he is delving into single monotype prints some of which are painted or collaged.
Szot's work has been represented by SMINK since 2016, shown at the Saatchi Gallery in London, and the Whitney Museum Art Party in 2014. He has work in many corporate and private collections, most notably in the Collection of Credit Suisse and the private collection of Beth DeWoody.
Artist in attendance for Opening Reception October 14, 5-8 p.m.
